The investigative statement to the former president Alberto Fernandez in the Insurance case it was rescheduled for next Wednesday, November 27 at 10, according to the federal judge’s ruling Julian Ercolini in response to a request for postponement from the prosecution for scheduling reasons, judicial sources reported.

In this way, the initial summons for November 20 was void and the round of investigations will begin a week later.

On November 28, the accused insurance “broker” Héctor Martínez Sosa and his wife and former private secretary of the former president María Cantero were summoned.

Fernández will have to appear next Wednesday, November 27 at 10 in the federal courts of Retiro, for the first time as an investigator since he left the Presidency.

The accused are charged “having intervened jointly in a coordinated and functional manner, approximately between the month of December 2019 and the month of December 2023, in a scheme for the collection and distribution of public funds through irregular direction in the contracting and intermediation of insurance taken by different public departments in ‘NACIÓN SEGUROS SA'”.

To this end, “a part of those named, with the connivance of Fernández, would have operated in the contracting of insurance from various state entities, and especially through the intermediation of individuals and companies between said entities and the insurer ‘NACIÓN SEGUROS SA ‘”, details the accusation.

Also, “in the inclusion of co-insurance companies by it. The maneuver would have required the intentional intervention of public officials of ‘NACIÓN SEGUROS SA’ and also of the different state departments that take out the insurance in question.”

“According to the cases, in an imposed or agreed manner, directly or indirectly or through simulated acts, they would have shown interest for their own benefit or that of third parties, in the irregular or informal designation of producers, organizers and masters and even private co-insurers, with the consequent incorporation into the policies and settlement of dividends in favor of said individuals by ‘NACIÓN SEGUROS SA’,” he added.

This whole operation “would have given rise to a large part of those contracts, whether necessary or not, involving the intervention of natural or legal persons who acted as intermediaries under the figures of producers, organizers and masters, highlighting that many of them would not have fulfilled any function as compensation for the high commissions that were paid to them”.

Among them are those also summoned for investigation Héctor Martínez Sosa, Pablo Torres García and Oscar Castello and In all cases the summonses were postponed.

The first of them is the husband of Fernández’s former private secretary, María Cantero, “who had a place of privilege” because she was “the historical secretary” of the former president, “later becoming presidential secretary and without any selection processes existing.” “said the judge.

“It should be noted that Martínez Sosa would have been united by an intimate and long-standing friendship with Fernández, in addition to his relationship with the presidential secretary Cantero, and there would have been numerous gifts and loans from the members of the couple to the then president of the Nation, among them money, jewelry and the use of real estate by employees of both parties,” the judge warned.

The investigation is in charge of the federal prosecutor Carlos Rivolo and Fernández is also accused in the case of gender violence initiated by the former first lady. Fabiola Yanezwithin the framework of which last week he added a request for a summons to an investigative statement from the prosecution, which Judge Ercolini also has to resolve.
