They match two premieres national cinema with female protagonists. One of those films warns against eating disorders. The other encourages any sexual behavior disorder, as long as it is happy and consensual.
“Chocolate for three”of Tomas Sanchezhas several well-known figures, beautiful landscapes of the outskirts of Purmamarca and Bariloche, and a half-tangled story about a family and a hotel that we never see, that the grandfather wants to sell and the granddaughter wants to keep out of love for her late father. He hates the mother, the mother’s partner too, and not to mention his future little brother.
She is angry with half the world, and that leads her to neglect her professional career, the advice of others, and the healthy food they offer her. He eats badly because he feels bad. She is also a spoiled, rude and unbearable egocentric. The problem is that, almost the entire movie you have to endure his tantrums. Luckily he settles down and there is a happy ending, all together eating a chocolate cake with blueberries, figs and walnuts, low calories and enjoying the singing of a duo made up of Flor Torrente and Elena Rogerpretty good.
Flor Torrente is the protagonist. They accompany her Gastón Soffritti, Romina Gaetani, Andrea Pietra, Elena Roger, Antonio Birabent, Romina Fernandes, Marta Mediavilla and especially Beatriz Spelzini and Arturo Puig in the role of separated grandparents but ready for a second chance. Director, Tomas Sanchezan independent who previously made two very interesting stories of family conflicts, “Another heart” and “Still”both with a great cast and first-class technical team, like the one we now see. But it lacks a co-writer.
For its part, “Vera and the pleasure of others”made with little money and almost unknown young people, tells the risky adventure of a teenager who rents a humid little room by the hour where teenage couples can have some privacy. And we say something, not everything, because she usually hears them behind the door. That is your delight, and also your learning. The problem is that that place is not his. It is the responsibility of a real estate agency, the mother is in charge of it and the daughter steals the key.
Having said that, we can only hope that the girl advances in her learning, the mother does not notice her mischief, and the real estate company does not interrupt the business. It is worth clarifying, this is not, by any means, a commercial film of the type that used to fill rooms with lonely men in the old days. Its intention and ways are different, attentive to current times where the female gaze is imposed, and we will not say more so as not to ruin the expectation.
Its directors, Romina Tamburello and Federico Actisare from Rosario and as such they filmed everything in Rosario with technicians from Santa Fe and Entre Rios. The cast is also from Rosario, except Ines Estevezthe mother, and Luciana Grassothe ingenious one. True, she is no longer such a teenager, but, for legal reasons, that character could only be played by someone of legal age. And she is totally believable as a little girl and it is a pleasure to see her.
It is also a good step in his career, because, although he already has a certain reputation in the off-screen theater, in cinema he had only acted in poorly distributed horror films, such as “When the matinee dies”, “Nights belong to monsters” and, somehow, the distant short film “Virgin”whose characters would have benefited from the shelter that Vera rents, instead of a secluded house with something unwanted in the dark.
