Netherlands qualified for the first time in its history for the final of the Davis Cupafter beating this afternoon Germany 2-0 in the Spanish city of Malaga.
In the first match of the series Botic Van De Zandschulp won in three sets against the German Daniel Altmaier 6-4, 7-6 (12) and 6-3, while Tallon Griekspoor then defeated 6-7 (4), 7-5 and 6-4 to Jan-Lennard Struff.
The Dutch tennis player made it 2-0, a shocking feat that broke his team’s historic bad streak in this competition, since the Netherlands had reached two Davis Cup semifinals in its entire history, in the 2001 and 2024 editions.
It is worth remembering that on Wednesday the oranges had eliminated Spain 2-1. Thus, Carlos Alcaraz was left without the opportunity to win the Davis Cup and the retirement of Rafael Nadal of professional tennis.

The German team faced the series without Alexander Zverev, one of its figures, who resigned from competing in the competition to focus on his own schedule for the coming season.
With these two wins that qualified them to the final stage, the Dutch will face the winner of the match between Australia and Italy, which will take place this Saturday.
The final series will also be played this Sunday, also at the Martín Cárpena Sports Palace, in Málaga.
