Netflix presented the long-awaited trailer for One hundred years of lonelinessis one of the most ambitious projects in the history of Latin America. The series arrives on the streaming platform on December 11.

Published in 1967, One hundred years of loneliness It is one of the emblematic works of Gabriel Garcia Marquezwinner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982. Considered a masterpiece of Latin American and universal literature and of enormous popular impact, it has more than 50 million copies sold and translations into more than 40 languages.

The series was filmed entirely in Colombia with the support of the family of the Nobel Prize winner in literature.

This preview presents some of the iconic moments that have enchanted readers of the work for more than 50 years, now on screen: the founding of Macondo and the arrival of Melquíades, the tensions of family life, the passions of the inhabitants of the town, the arrival of political conflicts and the war that breaks out and the chestnut tree in which José Arcadio Buendía fulfills the prophecy of his loneliness, unleashing a shower of yellow flowers.
