At first glance, Emily Wiesinger and Theresa Baumgartner don’t have much in common. One, Wiesinger, 18 years old, is preparing for the Matura exams in May at her school. The other, Baumgartner, is nine years older and works in the human resources department of an Upper Austrian industrial company. What they have in common is their hobby, which in terms of hours is more like a second job: ice hockey.
Both were infected while attending Black Wings games and came to the Linz AG ice arena more and more often, eventually taking their first steps in their ice hockey gear down there on the ice. Today they are essential parts of the Ice Cats Linz, which plays in the women’s ice hockey Bundesliga. Theresa Baumgartner leads her teammates onto the ice as captain, Emily Wiesinger is the current top scorer for the Linz team and also works in the international EWHL and the ÖEHV national team.
