Daughter Trinity on Dennis Rodman: “He’s not a father”

No father wants to hear that: Trinity Rodman, daughter of former basketball superstar Dennis Rodman, has given insights into family life.

Olympic soccer champion Trinity Rodman (22) spoke clearly about her relationship with her famous father Dennis (63). “He’s not a father. Maybe biologically, but nothing else,” she said of the former basketball superstar during an appearance on the podcast Call Her Daddy. “Hearing his voice is painful,” Trinity Rodman said. “I think he’s an extremely selfish person.”

In the interview with podcaster Alex Cooper, Rodman’s daughter harshly criticizes her father and accuses him. “We never really asked for anything unless we really needed it,” said the international soccer player, who currently plays for the Washington Spirit. There were times when she had to live in a car with her mother.

She thinks Rodman never understood that people just wanted to be around him and make him happy. Rodman himself has not yet commented on his daughter’s comments. The US broadcaster CNN said it asked the former basketball superstar but received no answer.

“It’s difficult for me to approach people who are close to me. It’s difficult even though I love them inside,” Rodman once said.

Trinity Rodman was born in California in 2002. Her mother, Michelle Moyer, was Dennis Rodman’s third wife. However, the relationship didn’t last long. Moyer mostly raised their two children, including Trinity and their son DJ (born in 2001), alone. Rodman, a member of the Hall of Fame and one of the best defensive specialists in NBA history, was a so-called bad boy on and off the basketball court caused a stir. Most recently, his friendly relationship with Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s ruler, made headlines.
