Painful Christmas for Scottie Scheffler: The golf superstar is injured while preparing the feast. He even has to go under the knife.

Painful Christmas days for the number one in the golf world: While preparing the feast, US star Scottie Scheffler injured his right hand so badly on a broken glass that he even had to undergo a minor operation. The 28-year-old will miss the season opener of the PGA Tour in Hawaii (January 2nd to 5th).

“Scottie suffered a stab wound to the palm of his right hand from broken glass,” said Scheffler’s manager Blake Smith. “Small pieces of glass remained in the palm of his hand, which required surgery. He was told he should be 100% in three to four weeks.” Scheffler’s next tournament start is now scheduled for January 16th to 19th in La Quinta, California.

Scheffler is currently the dominator of the golf scene. He won seven tournaments on the PGA Tour this season – including the prestigious Masters in Augusta for the second time. He was also in a class of his own at the Olympic Games in Paris and won the gold medal.
