After a fall: surgery on ski star Sarrazin went well

After Cyprien Sarrazin’s serious fall during downhill training in Bormio, there is positive news from the French Ski Association.

Ski racer Cyprien Sarrazin underwent successful head surgery after his serious fall during downhill training in Bormio. This was announced by the French association. However, the 30-year-old will remain in an artificial coma for the time being.

Sarrazin was diagnosed with a subdural hematoma, a hemorrhage near the brain, after the fall. He was then transported away by helicopter and treated in the neurological intensive care unit of an Italian hospital.

Sarrazin lost control on a bump during the training run and slid into a safety net with enormous force. The Frenchman caused a sensation last winter and, among other things, won the two downhill runs on the legendary Streif in Kitzbühel. He also triumphed in Bormio.
