DFB boss praises: Full stadiums are a credit to the coach
DFB President Neuendorf gives national coach Nagelsmann an excellent certificate at the end of the European Championship year. The change in the national team was successful.
Despite missing out on winning the title at the home European Championship, DFB President Bernd Neuendorf praised national coach Julian Nagelsmann’s work at the end of the year in the highest tones. “The fact that people are rallying behind the team again and the stadiums are full and there is a good atmosphere is all very pleasing and, above all, a credit to the coach,” said Neuendorf in an interview with the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland”.
Nagelsmann successfully managed the upheaval in the DFB selection, said Neuendorf. The national coach knows how to “integrate young people without noticing a drop in performance. He plays exciting football, is very ambitious, wants to win every game. This has the positive effect of creating a close connection between the fans and the team national team,” praised the 63-year-old.
Nagelsmann has “definitely” met the association’s expectations since taking office in September 2023, Neuendorf confirmed. “I am therefore extremely confident that we will see a very strong team on the pitch at the next World Cup.”
