Conceived as a City – Garden since its foundation by Jorge Bungein Pinamar art and nature coexist harmoniouslyproviding a unique architectural framework that organically integrates the landscape with urban development.
He Pinamar SA Public Art Program imagine the city as a space in which art and landscape intertwine in a unique way, generating a large open-air museum.
In his heart is the Pinamar Sculpture Park (PEP), a cultural proposal that brings together more than 70 sculptures, by 47 prominent Argentine artists, distributed in various routes of the city, such as the Playas Art Hotel, the Golf (Links Pinamar) and the Forest Nursery among others.
In this framework, Pinamar #2254 emerged, an initiative of Fundación Arteba and Pinamar SA, whose main objective of the award is to promote the integration between contemporary art, nature and urbanism, through the curatorship of Solana Molina Viamonte.

Arbor Treefrom the artist Donjo Leon It was the first work awarded in mid-2024, within the framework of Arteba.
The jury was made up of: Eduardo Basualdo (artist), Florence Batitti (curator and art critic), Martin Weddings (architect and urban planner), Monica Giron (artist and teacher) and Henry Shaw (executive director of Pinamar SA). Since then the artist has been working in the Pinamar SA forest nursery where he continues to develop the work.
The piece highlights the beauty and usefulness of pine, and at the same time promotes a deep reflection on life cycles.
In the work carried out within an airtight environment covered with pine wood, there is a pine trunk about three meters long. This one is perched on a large white tray. And through a system that pumps water from the lentils (water deposits that form naturally in the sand), the trunk is watered by sprinkler. Thus, a humid environment is generated where different types of fungi, mushrooms, mosses and insects proliferate that will decompose the wood as time progresses.
The artist highlights: “A new component that has an impact on the final result is the fact that there are teams of filmmakers building the work together with me and the use of new materials: cement, bricks, tiles. It is also my first work for a public space, which I am excited about reaching people who are not so related to traditional art spaces, that the public is much more diverse…”.

All of León’s work focuses on generating contexts or environments for different types of biological and chemical events to happen, almost always driven by water and the transformative power exerted by materials.
He Pinamar Sculpture Park (PEP) seeks to position Pinamar as a cultural destination, where art is integrated into the city’s daily life.
Donjo’s work joins more than 70 that are already part of the PEP and that include José Fioravanti, Lucio Fontana, Aurelio Macchi, Lucio Correa Morales, Ricardo Carpani, Rubén Locaso, Leo Vinci, Guyla Kosice, Marta Minujín and other greats masters of Argentine sculpture.
This program not only improves public space, but also promotes cultural tourism, energizes the local economy and strengthens the identity of Pinamar as a creative city. A different way to explore, reflect and enjoy art in the unique and vibrant environment of Pinamar.
