Erling Haaland receives new mega contract with Manchester City
One of the most lucrative contracts in sports history: Manchester City ties superstar Erling Haaland to them for ten years. A move to Real Madrid is off the table.
Manchester City has tied attacker Erling Haaland for a long time with a brilliant contract. The Norwegian extended his contract with the English champions by ten years until the summer of 2034. “Sorry, I’m here to stay,” said Haaland in a video addressed to the opposing teams’ defenders.
According to “The Athletic”, which first reported on the XXL contract, an exit clause was removed from the contract, which last ran until 2027. It was said that the Norwegian received one of the most lucrative working papers in sports history. Details were not known.

In the past, the 24-year-old has been repeatedly linked to Real Madrid. This will no longer be an issue – at least for the next few years. Haaland will continue to be one of the pillars of Manchester City for the foreseeable future. In a club statement, Haaland thanked “Pep Guardiola, his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the club. They have all helped me a lot over the last two years and made this a very special place. Now I’m staying at City, no matter what happens.”
Haaland moved to the island from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for 60 million euros. Since then he has won the Premier League title twice, the English Cup and the Champions League. At the end of his new mega-contract with City, the Norwegian international would be 34 years old and would have played twelve seasons in Manchester.
