Racing tobogganing: World Cup gold for double-seater Orlamünder/Gubitz

Germany’s racing toilet continues to trump up at the World Championships in Canada. A young German double-seat team fetches gold, the old masters are happy about bronze.

Hannes Orlamünder and Paul Gubitz won World Cup Gold at the World Racing toilet Championships. The two double-seat specialists prevailed in front of the Letten Martins Bots/Roberts Plume and the record Olympic champion Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt. After the two runs, the duo from Thuringia was 0.102 seconds ahead of Bots/Plume, the six -time Olympic champion Wendl/Arlt were 0.133 seconds behind the new world masters. The two sports soldiers have been a tobogganing double since 2011. The two 26-year-old silver had already won in the mixed relay and the third-placed Wendl/Arlt had already left behind. For the German team it was the fifth medal in the third of seven World Cup competitions and the second gold after the victory of Julia Taubitz and Max Langenhan.
