Combined Vinzenz Geiger wins World Cup in Otepää
After jumping, Vinzenz Geiger is in front. In the subsequent cross -country skiing, he no longer leaves an opponent over. In the women, Nathalie Armbruster becomes third after a courageous target sprint.
Vinzenz Geiger celebrated his 15th World Cup victory in the Nordic combination. In the Estonian Otepää, the 29-year-old from SC Oberstdorf prevailed against Norwegians Jarl Magnus Riiber and Jens Luraas Freifebro.
A good two weeks before the World Cup start in the Norwegian Trondheim, the Olympic champion of 2022 underlined its good shape. Already after jumping, Geiger had taken the lead with a width of 101.5 meters. In the subsequent cross -country skiing, the German defended all attacks by Riiber.
With places four and six, Julian Schmid and Johannes Rydzek, who also started for SC Oberstdorf, rounded off the good overall result of the German team.
Cindy Haasch is injured in a fall in jumping
In women, the World Cup leading Nathalie Armbruster (SZ Kniebis) improved to third place as seventh place after jumping. With a courageous closing sprint in the five-kilometer race, the 19-year-old passed Japanese Yuna Kasai. Ida Marie Hagen from Norway got the victory. Cindy Haaasch (WSC Ruhla) injured himself in a fall in the jumping and no longer competed for cross -country skiing.
