The German basketball world champion Franz Wagner led Orlando Magic to an important victory in the NBA. Against the San Antonio Spurs, the Magic narrowly won 112: 111 (57:60).

After the florida team had placed large parts of the game back, Paolo Banchero only brought the Magic in the lead shortly before the end. San Antonio’s star player Victor Wembanyama awarded the last litter seconds before the end.

Wagner led the Magic with 33 points, and with twelve rebounds he booked a career best and five assists. Tristan da Silva contributed three points to victory, which holds the Magic in the play-in ranks of the Eastern Conference. Orlando had only won two of the previous twelve games.

Hartenstein with Thunder continued in the track of success

In the Western Conference, Isaiah Hartenstein has further expanded the top position with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder won the top game at the second -placed Memphis Grizzlies with 125:11 in the west and, after the fifth victory, are still undisputed in front. Hartenstein convinced with a so-called double double, scored twelve points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and the 26-year-old German center came to four assists and two blocks.

Good debut for Davis and Butler

The debut by Anthony Davis for the Dallas Mavericks was also dominant. The center, who came to Dallas in a spectacular change for Luka Doncic from the Los Angeles Lakers, opened in his first game for the Mavericks at 116: 105 against the Houston Rockets. Davis showed with 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks. In the third quarter, however, he retired with a groin injury.

Jimmy Butler’s debut for the Golden State Warriors was also successful. The Warriors won 132: 111 at Butler’s former Team Chicago Bulls. Butler showed a strong game with 25 points alongside Stephen Curry, who get 34 points.

Los Angeles Lakers won their fifth game in a row without Doncic and star player LeBron James. Austin Reaves achieved a personal record with 45 points in the 124:117 win against the Indiana Pacers.
