World Cup fight is getting closer: heavyweight Kabayel defeats Zhang
In Riad, the German boxer Agit Kabayel fights for his long-awaited World Cup fight. The Bochumer prevails against the 130-kilo colossus Zhang-and can dream.
The German heavyweight Agit Kabayel took a big step in the direction of his desired World Cup fight. The 32-year-old boxer from Bochum defeated the Chinese Knockout expert Zhoei Zhang in the Saudi Arabian Riyadh and secured the interim title of the WBC association. The unbeaten cabin is the compulsory challenger of the Ukrainian world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
After six out of twelve rounds, he prevailed against his opponent through a knockout and gave the opponent a deserved defeat. Again and again Kabayel, known for his effective liver strokes, had tracted the colossus through the body hits.
It was another exclamation mark from Kabayel. His flawless balance remains. He won all of his 26 professional fights. He celebrated 18 successes through a knockout triumph.
Kabayel could be the first German heavyweight world champion since Max Schmeling more than 90 years ago. “He is the best heavyweight that we have seen in Germany since the turn of the millennium,” said former boxer Axel Schulz the “Bild”.
The massive legal interpreter Zhang, who is the whole nine years older than Kabayel and celebrated 22 of his 27 professional victories through Knockout, started furiously and prepared an unpleasant start to the 20 kg lighter cabay. But from the third round, the Bochumer became more powerful, always aimed at his opponent’s liver.
Kabayel – already twice European champion in the past – was risky. That revenues: In the fifth round, Zhang Kabayel sent the floor for the first time. However, he did not let that be put off, overall more clear hits than the Chinese. He then promoted Zhang on the boards in the sixth round and ensured the end of the fight.
