Ski jumping scandal: FIS announces examination results
Despite the vertebrae for manipulated suits at their home World Cup, the Norwegian ski jumpers are nominated for the next jumping. In the meantime, the FIS puts everything on the test.
After the scandal about manipulated suits of the Norwegian ski jumper, the World Association FIS has initiated incoming investigations, and the first results are to be presented on this Wednesday. In the meantime, the Norwegian ski association announced that the Norwegians will start around the last disqualified Springer Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang next Thursday at the World Cup am Holmenkollen in Oslo.
The FIS said that both the Ethics and Compliance Commission and the administration of the association would work with the various representatives of interest that are involved in these cases, “to promote the investigation as quickly as possible and to safeguard fairness and a proper procedure”. The FIS called the process “a serious matter”.
Drastic changes in the equipment regulations possible
FIS General Secretary Michel Vion announced that every stone would be turned over to ensure respect and fairness. “This means that we continue to check the entire process. And if we come to the conclusion that the equipment regulations have to be changed drastically, we will do so,” he emphasized.
Anonymously filmed and published videos have been causing great excitement in ski jumping since Saturday. On the moving images you can see how the Norwegian team works on competition suits in an inadmissible way. An unauthorized seam was attached, which should provide more stability. The additional stability helps the jumpers to fly in the air.
After the big hill in Trondheim, the Lindvik and Forfang were disqualified. Previously, her team -mate Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal had been taken out of the competition. The Norwegian team admitted the fraud. Trainer Magnus Brevig was suspended as well as another employee. However, there is concern that the scandal passes significantly further.

Despite the scandal, Forfang and Lindvik should start in the upcoming World Cup jumping in front of a home crowd. The two stand for the Raw Air competition series on the Holmenkollen and in Vikersund as well as in the Norwegian contingent as Sundal, as was the result of the Ski Association of the Scandinavian Land.
