Manipulation in ski jumping
Fraud scandal: only a suit for ski jumper
The manipulation of diving suits has been causing great vertebrae in ski jumping since last weekend. The World Association reacts and decides to make changes for the rest of the season.
In the ski jumping scandal around manipulated suits of the athletes, the World Association FIS has set new rules for the remaining World Cup competitions. From now on, the athletes are only allowed to compete with a jumping suit by the end of the season. It must be a suit that has already been equipped with an identification chip this winter. A second suit can be available as a backup if the first breaks.
Every selected suit is to be checked with the athletes in front of today’s World Cup on the Holmenkollen in Oslo. The jump suits are collected by officials from FIS after the competition. They should be spent around 30 minutes before the next training or competition. The changes also apply to the Nordic combination.
Top jumpers Lindvik and Forfang were suspended by the FIS
At the world championships in Trondheim ended last Sunday, manipulated suits of Norwegian ski jumper had attracted great attention. If suits, the World Cup host had attached an unpaid seam to ensure more stability after the jump. When flying in the air, the jumpers are said to have benefited from the additional stability. Among other things, the top athletes Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang were then suspended by FIS.
