NBA: Break for Schröder, compulsory victory for Wagner

Dennis Schröder and the Detroit Pistons lose against the bottom of the table, but stay on playoff course. Franz Wagner presents himself strongly – just like Luka Doncic.

The German basketball world champion Dennis Schröder and the Detroit Pistons have received an unexpected defeat in the NBA. The pistons lost their home game against the bottom of the table Washington Wizards with 125: 129. For the Wizards it was the 14th victory in the 65th game of the season. Two days earlier, Detroit had celebrated a clear victory against the team from the US capital.

National team captain Schröder was not part of the starting line -up, in 20 minutes he came to eleven points. By far the best thrower at Detroit was once again Cade Cunningham with 38 points. Despite the surprising defeat, the pistons are still on the direction of the final round, Detroit is currently sixth of the Eastern Conference and thus occupies the last direct playoff place.

Orlando masters mandatory task – Wagner Stark

In contrast to Detroit, the Orlando Magic around Franz Wagner mastered their mandatory task. The Florida team clearly won 113: 93 at the New Orleans Pelicans. Wagner showed a strong performance and scored 27 points, scored eleven of his 17 attempts from the field and converted all four free throws. Only his team -mate Paolo Banchero, who 34 points, was better. Tristan da Silva contributed three points to victory.

By victory, Orlando consolidated eighth place in the Eastern Conference, which would at least entitle you to participate in the Play-in tournament. However, the direct playoff qualification hardly appears feasible. The gap to Detroit is already six victories, with only 15 outstanding games in the regular season, this is hard to catch up.

Lakers lose despite Doncic-Gala

Meanwhile, superstar Luka Doncic has performed the best performance since moving to Los Angeles Lakers, but could not prevent the Californian’s third defeat in a row. The Lakers lost 106: 126 at the Milwaukee Bucks without their continued injured second star LeBron James. Doncic scored outstanding 45 points and thus set his best value of the current season.

Without James, who laboratories on a groin injury, the Slovenian was almost on its own. Austin Reaves came up to 28 points, otherwise Dalton Knecht was the only other player with the guests with ten points who scored the double digits. The Bucks, in which four players scored at least 20 points, presented themselves quite differently. How long James will fail is unclear. Forecasts went out shortly after the injury of a few weeks.
