Golf Idol Langer at Masters party before the end

Bernhard Langer gives his farewell performance at the Masters at the age of 67. It will not be enough for the crucial rounds at the weekend for Germany’s best known golfers.

Germany’s golf icon Bernhard Langer threatens the early appearance at the legendary Masters tournament in Augusta. The now 67-year-old from Anhausen is located after rounds of 74 and 73 strokes just below the cut line, which decides on the qualification for the two final rounds at the weekend. It looks that the Masters champion from 1985 and 1993 misses the cut in the Augusta National Golf Club. However, not all 95 players had finished the second round.

Until the 15th play, there were a good chance that Langer could surely compete with the two decisive rounds. But the veteran struck his ball into the water on the Par 5 with the third blow. In the end he needed seven blows on 15th hole. Langer also affected a failure in the final hole. At the decisive putt to the par, his ball ran wafer -thin past the hole.

Masters party after 40 years

Langer had previously announced that it was the last time at the major tournament in the US state of Georgia. With his first Masters triumph 40 years ago, the Swabian Golf, who had long lived in the USA, suddenly moved into the spotlight in Germany. In 1993 he again secured the legendary green jacket for the winner. In the future, Langer only wants to concentrate on the tournaments of the US senior tour.
