Antonio Rüdiger closed for six games after freaking out
Antonio Rüdiger is punished hard for his freak in the cup final, but it is not important for the international. He injured himself and has to pause for a long time.
Football player Antonio Rüdiger has to pay for his violent outbreak in the Spanish cup final. Real Madrid’s defender was blocked by Spain’s association for six games.
Shortly before the end of the extension of the final against FC Barcelona (2: 3), the Rüdiger, who had already replaced, had insulted the referee and thrown at an object.
In terms of sport, however, the damage is limited to the Germans: the 32-year-old has to take a longer break anyway. Because of a partial tear of the outer meniscus in the left leg, Rüdiger had undergone an operation and could therefore also be missing from the national team at the Nations League final tournament in Munich and Stuttgart in early June. Spanish media expect a downtime of six to eight weeks.
Rudi Völler warns Antonio Rüdiger
Rüdiger himself hopes for a faster return. “I want to be able to play again as soon as possible, as the Nations League and the club World Cup have two big tournaments in front of me,” wrote the DFB defense chief on Instagram. Despite the violent debate about his freak out in the cup final, DFB sports director Rudi Völler had shown that no suspension of Rüdiger was planned in the national team.
«Toni is a great player – but he also has to show great as a national player in his behavior. He rightly demands respect for himself, he must also show this respect without exception, »said Völler about the event in the final for the Spanish royal cup.
Hard to tame in the scene
Rüdiger had hardly been tamed in the scene. The decision of the Ricardo de Burgos Bengoechea referee, who had whistled the last attack by the royal because of an offensive foul by Kylian Mbappé. Rüdiger raged in front of the replacement bench, tore the ice cream bag from his damaged knees and could hardly be tamed by teammates and supervisors. He received the red card for his tantrum.
