Frederik Ruppert pulverized the German record over 3000 meters of obstacle at Diamond League Meeting in Rabat. The 28-year-old from Aachen ran the route in the Moroccan capital in 8: 01.49 minutes as quickly as no other German before. Damian Kallabis kept the old record in 8: 09.48 from 1999.
Only Olympic champion El Bakkali in Rabat faster
Ruppert took an outstanding second place behind the Olympic champion Tokyo and Paris Soufiane El Bakkali in the quick race. The athletics star from Morocco won in 8: 00.70 minutes. Ruppert’s own best performance before was almost 15 seconds slower.
