Ford introduced the new Ford Maverick Hybrid in the country, the first electrified pickup in the compact segment.

The model is also one of the three electrified models that Ford plans to launch in the country, since two 100% electric vehicles will be added: the E-Transit utility vehicle and the Mustang Mach-E. In this way, there will be five electrified models that the oval brand will sell in the country.

The hybrid Maverick, strictly speaking, is Ford’s second electrified pickup in Argentina, since the F-150 had been launched previously. The propulsion system is made up of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine and a 2.5 Atkinson cycle. liters of displacement, combined with an electric motor. Working together, they deliver an output of 194 horsepower and 210 Nm of torque, mated to an e-CVT transmission that drives the front wheels.

The vehicle intelligently and automatically alternates the coupling to operate in 100% electric mode, hybrid mode, or internal combustion only. In addition, it has a high-voltage lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1.1 KWh, with self-recharging technology, which is fed with the energy obtained during filming through two systems: an electric generator that is in charge of transforming the energy mechanics into electrical energy, and the Regenerative Braking System, which recovers the energy that is dissipated during braking.

In addition, it comes with five driving modes: Normal, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Sand Mud that adapt and configure different vehicle systems to suit the terrain.

Regarding its exterior design, the Hybrid Maverick maintains its lines. The grille features a satin gray crossbar, body-color exterior mirrors and door handles, and a “C”-shaped headlamp design with LED lighting technology.

It has the box protector that comes standard, a built-in bottle opener and a gate opening system with up to three positions. There are also two available 110-volt, 400-watt outlets, one in the bed and one in the cab, that can power phones, computers, televisions, or small tools.

The upholstery is made of high-quality ecological leather, and a design that combines different colors and offers an ambient lighting system. It has an 8” multi-touch screen with SYNC 2.5, compatible with Apple Car Play & Android Auto, and an instrument panel with a 6.5” digital screen.

The driver’s seat has electrical adjustment of up to 8 positions, and manual adjustment of up to 6 positions for the passenger, both with lumbar adjustment and front and rear center armrest.

Among the equipment, the engine start and keyless door opening, dual-zone digital automatic climate control and the Security Code system stand out: a numeric panel on the driver’s door frame to open and close the vehicle without having to have the key.

It also has brakes with auto-hold function, Rotary Shifter rotary gear selector, electric power steering (EPAS) and cruise control.

Another novelty is the Ford Co-Pilot 360 system, Ford’s driving assistance technology platform, integrated by pre-Collision assistant with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, automatic control of high beams, rear view camera , among others.

The New Maverick Hybrid is produced in Mexico and the suggested retail price is $16,100,000. It is guaranteed for 3 years or up to 100,000 km, while the high-voltage battery and hybrid system components are guaranteed for 8 years or 160,000 km.
