The “Homeland First” list of the former president, Cristina Kirchnerrequested this Tuesday to the Electoral Board of the Justicialist Party (PJ) that enable the list “Federals, a cry from the heart” from the Rioja governor Ricardo Quintela to participate in the elections internal of November 17.
In response to accusations from Quintela’s list, the representatives of the Primero La Patria listAnabel Fernández Sagasti, María Teresa García and Gustavo Arrieta, sent a letter to the PJ Electoral Board where they requested that “provide with broad and non-restrictive criteria, the authorization of Federals, a cry from the heart”, despite the fact that “lacks the essential elements to be considered valid”.
ENABLING FEDERAL LIST A CRY FROM THE HEART.pdf
For the representatives of Cristina Kirchner’s list The political context “should not be an excuse for not holding the election.”since for several months the FEDERALES candidate, UN GRITO DE CORAZÓN has been touring the country and forming the promotional boards of its internal space.
The observations about the Federals, a cry from the heart
First, La Patria made a series of observations about possible regulatory shortcomings to present a party list that includes Ricardo Quintela as a candidate for the presidency of the PJ. In the document presented to the Electoral Board he listed them.
Among the regulatory faults are the lack of two candidates per province, they do not reach the minimum number of candidates per union branch (15) or for the youth (15), candidates without specifying the province to which they belong and without ID, and two candidates who were not affiliated.
The complaints from Quintela’s list
Before the writing of Primer La Patria, the list of the Rioja governor Ricardo Quintela released the statement “Without noise and without administrative chicanes: in the PJ we are going to have elections”where he had accused the PJ Electoral Board of carrying out a series of irregularities against him.
“The institution that must carry out the administrative process of the election and guarantee its transparency is the electoral board, its functions and powers are clearly defined in article 28 of the Organic Charter. The electoral board has not yet been established or maintained a single face-to-face meeting of its members. “Someone must explain why yesterday, at the headquarters on Matheu Street, a group of militants with no position or function were in possession of the documentation presented by our list, without any control by the observers.”they denounce in the statement.
“Yesterday, in response to the presentation of formal observations on our list made by the Primero La Patria list, the president of the electoral board stipulated a period of 120 minutes to comply with the rectifications. An arbitrary period dictated unilaterally, without meeting to the electoral board, publishing the resolution on a website and without formally communicating it to our representatives. We ask ourselves: was the purpose of the Board “that never met” intended to allow our list to complete the formal process or was it another maneuver based on the old methods of administrative proscription used when the party does not want to be opened to democratic participation? In any case, our list met the deadline and made the presentation at Matheu’s headquarters, as required by the president of the electoral board,” they clarify from the list of the governor of La Rioja.
