When it comes to gender-appropriate language, the debate quickly boils emotionally. However, employers have a very sober reason to deal with it: in times of a shortage of skilled workers, they have to address female and male applicants alike – and formulate their job advertisements accordingly. But be careful: too much gender equality in job advertisements can scare off the lords of creation, as a current study shows.
