Investors include Calm/Storm Ventures, Push Ventures and Hansi Hansmann, as well as the four Runtastic founders. The startup from Upper Austria around the founders Christian Orgler, Stephan Brunner and Kevin Snajda has been working on an app since the beginning of 2022 that restricts or protects children’s activities on cell phones and computers in an age-appropriate manner.

The system is running cross-platform on Apple and Google operating systems and automatically filters millions of inappropriate websites. It also offers parents the ability to regulate their children’s screen time.

With the investment, the Ohana team, which currently consists of eight people, is to be expanded by additional employees and the range of families is to be expanded, says CEO and co-founder Christian Orgler. Work is currently underway on similar solutions for PCs and game consoles.

The capital is intended to accelerate the growth of the company and help establish itself as the market leader in the German-speaking region.
