The “Spectrum” carrier rocket is intended to launch small and medium-sized satellites into space.

The Volkswagen major shareholder has made 155 million euros available with financial investors, the company announced on Tuesday. Isar Aerospace is currently valued higher than in the previous round of financing in 2021, explained CFO David Kownator, without naming a sum.

According to Kownator, his company collected a total of 310 million euros. The Munich-based company is planning the maiden flight of the “Spectrum” carrier rocket for the second half of 2023, which is intended to launch small and medium-sized satellites into orbit from a launch pad in Andoya, Norway. The order books are already well filled. Customers include the US aerospace company Spaceflight. “Isar Aerospace opens the gateway to space that commercial, institutional and government customers desperately need,” said CEO and co-founder Daniel Metzler.
