In this way, the accumulated figure for the first four months of 2023 reflected an increase of 26.33% compared to the same period last year.

“In April, oil production in the province of Neuquén continued its upward pace compared to last year. Nine out of ten barrels come from Vaca Muerta”said the press release.

As reported by the province’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the monthly decrease was mainly due to the drop in production in the Bajada del Palo Oeste, La Amarga Chica, Sierras Blancas and Mata Mora Oeste areas.

Fewer wells were connected at these points in April, a situation that can occur in certain months in particular.

While, Gas production last April was 83.13 million cubic meters per daywhich implies a growth of 1.79% compared to March, 6.14% compared to April 2022 and 3.2% in the accumulated variation January-April of this year.

“The increase compared to March is mainly due to increased production from the Aguada Pichana Este, Fortín de Piedra, El Mangrullo and Loma La Lata-Sierra Barrosa areas,” the statement said.

The participation of unconventional oil in total production in April was 91%, while unconventional gas production reached 82%.
