Sales in supermarkets fell for the second consecutive month: they lost 2.5% in July

Regarding sales in large purchasing centers, sales in July were 10.2% above that of the same month in 2022, 10.7% above last June and a cumulative positive of 12.3% so far this year.

Total sales in supermarkets at current prices, for July, amounted to $482,669.4 millionwhich represented an increase of 111.5% compared to the same month of the previous year, against an inflation of 113.4%, reported Indec.

In total sales at current prices, the groups of items with the most significant increases compared to the same month of the previous year were: “Greengrocers and fruit shops”, 164.1%; “Beverages”, 135.9%; “Prepared foods and rotisseries”, 133.3%; and “Bakery”, 123.8%.
