Frankfurt Stock Exchange: Dax with little movement ahead of US inflation data

On the last trading day of the week, the German stock market showed little movement. The leading index, the Dax, was down moderately at 18,480 points in early trading on Friday. The previous day, the Dax had initially reached its lowest level in more than three weeks, but then made up for the losses.

In the afternoon, inflation data from the USA could provide new clues about US monetary policy and also move prices. Some are now doubting the interest rate cuts in the Eurozone and the USA that were already believed to be certain. The European Central Bank is due to make its decision this Thursday. Experts are expecting the first key interest rate cut after a long period of tight monetary policy in the fight against high inflation.

The MDax of medium-sized stocks fell by 0.3 percent to 26,729 points on Friday. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading index for the eurozone, remained unchanged.
