After Esprit bankruptcy: online auction of the inventory

Consumers can take part in auctions and purchase Esprit assets online. All shops across Germany will close until the end of November.

Desks, computers, cell phones, cars: You can now bid on the assets of the insolvent German Esprit companies online. The first two online auctions can already be viewed on the website. This emerges from a statement from HT Hanseatische Industrie-Consult GmbH & Co. KG, which was commissioned with the auction. Anyone can take part in the auctions after registering in advance.

All 56 Esprit branches will be closed

All fixed assets at the Esprit headquarters in Ratingen and at the logistics center in Mönchengladbach will be auctioned. According to the announcement, a total of around 2,000 items will be put up for sale in several auctions, including 400 office workstations with height-adjustable desks, around 500 electrical devices such as computers, tablets and smartphones as well as televisions and video conference systems. You can also bid on 40 cars from the Esprit fleet. Garments are not part of the auctions.

At the beginning of August it was announced that the fashion group would be closing all of its 56 branches in Germany by the end of the year. Around 1,300 employees will lose their jobs as a result. Esprit’s business is currently being wound up. The stores where goods are still being sold will close by the end of November at the latest, a spokesman said. Some shops are already closed.
