The series was confirmed in January 2022, follows the main character Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old demigod that you are accepting your new powers when the god of heaven Zeus accuses him of stealing his master thunderbolt.. Percy embarks on the adventure of his life to find the lightning bolt and return it to Olympus.
Riordan and Jon Steinberg (Black Sails, The Old Man) they are co-writing the pilot of the series, which James Bobin will direct. Steinberg and producing partner Dan Shotz will oversee the series. The Percy Jackson series for Disney+ initially it would have 8 episodes, but it does not yet have a release date.
