The 69-year-old used the English expression for this “hopelessly devoted”. That’s the title of a song from the movie “Grease” (1978), in which John Travolta co-starred with Olivia Newton-John. Both of them achieved their breakthrough, Newton-John was at the top of the charts with the piece for a long time. In August 2022 she died at the age of 73 as a result of breast cancer.
Since their joint film success, Travolta and Newton-John have had a close friendship that lasted for decades. It was correspondingly moving for the actor to be able to pay his last respects to his girlfriend on the Oscars stage.
