It does not go anymore: Disney + lowered the thumb to the second season of Willow

The series, which premiered in 2022, sought to continue the story created by George Lucas for the 1988 film.

TV series Willow came to an end after just one season in Disney+ as the portal could confirm Variety.

The news comes roughly two months after the high-fantasy series aired its eighth and final episode, with the show debuting in November 2022 and running through January 2023.

Willow continued the story from the 1988 film of the same name based on a story by George Lucas and was directed by Ron Howardwith Warwick Davis returning for the series in the title role of Willow Ufgood. Originally, the show was reported to be in the works at Disney+ in 2019 and ordered as a series in late 2020.

Along with Davis, the show’s cast included RUby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk, and Joanne Whalley.

The series’ official tagline reads: “In a magical world where elves, wizards, trolls and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues as an unlikely band of heroes embark on a perilous quest to places far beyond their home, where They must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.”
