Nicole Heesters (86) will be presented at the Salzburg Festival this year “Anyone” contribute. The former paramour returns as “everyone’s” Mother back to the cathedral square. Cornelia Froboess was announced for this role in the 2023 program.
Because of a bereavement in the closest family circle, Froboess decided with great regret to retire from the role, the festival informed. Heesters played the paramour in 1973 alongside Curd Jürgens. In 2021, the German received the Theater Prize “The fist” for her life’s work.
