The three-day coronation of King Charles III ended on Monday with a volunteer day. The monarch allowed himself a day of rest, but spoke up in the evening.
King Charles III thanked the British people on Monday for the “greatest coronation gift possible”. “To know that we have your support and encouragement, to see your warmth expressed in so many ways” was the greatest possible coronation gift, Charles III said.
The celebrations ended with a volunteer day. Heir to the throne Prince William visited a scout club in Slough west of London with his wife Kate and children George, Charlotte and Louis.

Monday was due to the coronation of King Charles III. declared a public holiday across the UK. The royal family called on people to use their free time for community work.
