Actress Jasmin Shakeri will moderate the presentation of the German Film Prize and emphasized the value of artistic freedom in advance. “I think that by now everyone must be aware that we have the privilege of being able to live art freely and uncensored, and I would like to focus on that,” she told the German Press Agency in Berlin.
“As a musician and now also as an actress, I want to hold art partly responsible as one of the remaining bastions of humanity,” said Shakeri. She referred, for example, to the situation in countries such as Iran, China and Russia, where cultural workers are subject to dictatorial censorship.
The German Film Prize will be awarded on Friday evening (7 p.m.) in Berlin. ZDF broadcasts online and later shows the show on television with a time delay. Shakeri was seen in the series “Deadlines” and in the comedy “Einfach mal was Schönes” and took over the moderation of the evening.
