World Cocktail Day: 11 intense versions to try during the winter

Truffle

An exclusive restaurant located inside the Kos Pilar Hotel, which has an intimate lounge and a large rooftop, where guests are invited to taste cosmopolitan tapas and seasonal dishes. Barmanager Juani Camaño designed a signature cocktail menu, without leaving out classics like the Old Fashioned. Based on Scotch whisky, Angostura bitters, ginger syrup and a tablespoon of pollen from a hundred flowers, this cocktail is one of the favorites in winter and not so much. Due to its complex flavors, Juani recommends drinking it before or after eating.

Ronconcon

The proposal of this restaurant moves to Latin America. Flavors from different Latin countries are combined, both in their dishes and in their cocktails. In charge of the mixologist Emilio Bruno, the cocktail menu includes autumnal options such as the Oaxaca Negroni, with mezcal, Campari, rosso vermouth, coffee bitters and orange peel. It is prepared with the fat wash method (filtered with fat or wax), which seeks to soften and give a silky texture to the distillate: inside the same bottle of mezcal, painted with beeswax, equal parts of mezcal, Campari and vermouth rosso. Then, it is served directly in a previously cooled glass and finished with a few drops of coffee bitterness, orange peel and coffee beans. It is recommended to order it before dessert.

bagatelle

This sophisticated place combines the gastronomy of the south of France and a signature cocktail bar that lives up to its proposal. The head bartender Aaron D Montijo is in charge of the colorful bar, where distillates, liqueurs and more Premium spirits abound, with which original blends with a French accent are created. To cope with the low temperatures, you can try the Un día de Invierno cocktail, with an intense flavor and sweet notes, which combines rum, Drambuie, Averna and cocoa bitters. Perfect to start the night or as a companion to a dessert.

Their specialty is American-style smoked meats and from the bar, commanded by bartender Gonzalo Altamirano, they present cocktails that are also standouts. The Lucky You is an option dedicated to lovers of sweets and ideal for combating the cold. It blends the smoky notes of Scotch whiskey with the docile flavor of rum and sweet wine. This trio incorporates a homemade banana and vanilla syrup, a citrus touch of lime juice and a caramelized banana garnish with cinnamon.

Its sweet, fresh and herbal notes make it a drink that can be officiated as an aperitif or to cut off the afternoon. Tribe

With a panoramic view of the river and a boho-chic setting, this space offers gourmet preparations made by hand, baked in a clay oven or grilled. To recover from the cold with a drink in hand, they recommend the Creek cocktail, a new addition that includes cognac, passion fruit pulp, lemon cordial, coffee liqueur and a dash of black pepper, finished with a twist of lime. It is citric and balanced, with a coffee-flavored finish and a very subtle spiciness. Ideal for the end of dinner.

the little fisherman

The proposal stands out for its seafood cuisine with quality fresh fish, its elaborate dishes and its eccentric setting, with glitter, colours, garlands and themed tableware. Its cocktail bar is not far behind and each proposal bears names alluding to the sea, such as Coral, with Red Label whiskey, macerated green apple, lime and cinnamon syrup. The fruit is blended without the skin, macerated in the shaker with the cinnamon syrup and mixed with the rest of the ingredients for one minute. Serve strained in an Old Fashioned glass and garnish with apple pearls. The house suggests it as a companion to any of its meals.

Picsa

A place that delights with authentic mold and wood-fired sourdough pizzas, but also with reversed cocktails. Her menu exhibits a short but interesting proposal created by the barwoman Bianca Bertoli, with a focus on “bitters”, which can work as an aperitif, to accompany food or to lift an afternoon. This is the case of the Negroni (almost) Argento, which uses an outstanding nationally produced gin, Campari, and a minimal-intervention artisan vermouth based on Malbec, which gives it a floral, spicy, and citric profile. It is served in a short glass with a slice of orange.
