Arnold Schwarzenegger organizes a climate summit in Vienna. On the sidelines, he visited old friends from his homeland.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (75) is in Vienna right now, the Hollywood star is hosting the Austrian World Summit. Beyond the climate summit, he also finds time to meet old acquaintances. The superstar posted a picture of him in a cozy old man’s group on Tuesday. “Back with the boys,” he commented on the snapshot. “I’m so happy I’m still friends with my elementary school friends from Thal.”

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in the small community in Styria on July 30, 1947. He also attended elementary school in Thal. He then went to a school in Graz. In 1968, the future world star emigrated to the USA, where he studied business administration.

Politicians and protests at Schwarzenegger’s climate summit

Arnold Schwarzenegger has been inviting people to the Austrian World Summit in Vienna since 2017, organized by the “Schwarzenegger Climate Initiative”. Players from politics, business and society should exchange ideas here.

The event in the Vienna Hofburg began on Tuesday. Guests include Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen (79) and Chancellor Karl Nehammer (50). Activists from Fridays for Future and the Last Generation demonstrated in front of the Hofburg. They accuse the event, which is sponsored by BMW, among others, of greenwashing.

Twitter users troll because of the alleged private jet

Arnold Schwarzenegger flew to Vienna on a scheduled Lufthansa flight. At , he posted a picture from the plane. Nevertheless, some users accused him of double standards. He would fight climate change but then fly on a private plane.

“Again. This is a commercial Lufthansa flight,” countered the former governor of California. “Before you spend all day searching Twitter for the wrong reasons for your anger, take a few minutes to look in the mirror and find out the real reason for your anger. Work on it. One day you will be grateful to me.”
