The fifth part of the legendary film series celebrates its premiere at the film festival on Thursday. In the movie “Indiana Jones and the Wheel of Destiny,” set largely in 1969, “Indy” is once again on the hunt for a precious artifact: a wheel that some believe could change the course of history. At his side this time is his goddaughter Helena (Waller-Bridge). But the two are not the only ones looking for the device. A scientist with a Nazi past (Mikkelsen) also wants to get his hands on it.

Steven Spielberg and George Lucas’ first Indiana Jones film, Raiders of the Lost Ark, was released in 1981 and was a huge hit. Further parts of the adventure film series followed in 1984, 1989 and 2008. For the first time, Spielberg did not direct the fifth part himself. Mangold (“Walk The Line”) took over this time. Spielberg was on board as executive producer.
