After the death of Taylor Hawkins, the band Foo Fighters now present the new drummer. Josh Freese sits on the drums on the tour.

The US rock band, who recently announced the release date of their forthcoming album But Here We Are, also released a video featuring a host of star drummers to introduce fans to their new addition to the band.

The clip began with the Foo Fighters discussing a fight before Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, 61, joined them and asked if one of their cars was blocking his in the studio parking lot. The group was later visited by Tommy Lee, 60, who brought them food, and Tool drummer Danny Carey, 62, who pet the group’s dogs.

As the band resumed their conversation, they were interrupted by Freese, who asked them if they could start playing. The band responded to the musician’s request and kicked off with their 2002 hit “All My Life.”

Josh Freese replaces Taylor Hawkins

Josh Freese has been a drummer for several decades and has toured with bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Devo and Guns N’ Roses. The musicians have not announced whether the US artist will become a full member of the band or simply be part of the upcoming tours.

Former Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins (1972-2022) passed away at the age of 50 while the group was touring in Bogota, Colombia in March last year. He’s been there since 1997. Three years earlier, Dave Grohl (54) had founded the Nirvana follow-up band.
