Ryan Gosling: Children are more important to him than Hollywood

Ryan Gosling would rather spend time with family than make movies. Apparently he couldn’t have imagined that before.

Ryan Gosling (42) and Eva Mendes (49) have been a couple for around ten years. They have two daughters together. However, before the two Hollywood stars got together, he had never thought about having children. Today Gosling no longer wants to give up life with his family, .

Gosling and Mendes fell in love while filming the drama film The Place Beyond the Pines. For a while it got pretty quiet around the actor in Hollywood – and there’s a reason for that. The couple’s second child was born, “and I wanted to spend as much time as I could with them.”

No children without Mendes

“It’s true that I didn’t think about kids before I met her. But after meeting Eva, I realized I just didn’t want kids without her,” Gosling explains. “There were moments on ‘The Place Beyond the Pines’ where we pretended to be a family – and I really didn’t want it to be pretended anymore.” The actor realized he would be lucky if he shared a life with Mendes.

The first time he introduced himself as a father was just before his first daughter was born – when Mendes told him she was pregnant. He would “never” want to return to his old life without his partner and children. “I’m glad I wasn’t in control of my destiny in that way, because it was so much better than I ever imagined,” says Gosling.

According to the article, Gosling lives in Southern California with Mendes and their daughters and has made it a goal to only shoot about one film a year. The family is always present during the shooting. Otherwise, he and his partner are usually at home and take care of the kids without a nanny.

Nevertheless, the star will soon be appearing on the big screen again. From July 20, cinema fans can see Gosling in “Barbie” as Ken, the friend of the cult doll played by Margot Robbie (32).
