Her roles in the series “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes” and “Dallas” made her famous. Actress Gayle Hunnicutt has died at the age of 80. This is reported by various British media. Born in Texas, she left the United States in 1969 and lived in Great Britain for many years.

Cause of death is still unknown

According to reports, Hunnicutt died on August 31, the cause of death is not yet known. She started her acting career in the 1960s. In 1984 she played the role of Irene Adler in the series “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”. From 1989 to 1991 she appeared as Vanessa Beaumont in the last three seasons of “Dallas”.

Hunnicutt was born in Texas in 1943. She studied drama and English at the University of Calfornia. Since she was not satisfied with the roles offered in the USA, she left the States in 1969 and appeared mainly in European productions. She has also acted in numerous theater productions in the UK. Her last role, however, was on screen: in 1999 she starred in an episode of the British series The Pros – The Next Generation.

Two sons from two marriages

The deceased leaves behind two children and five grandchildren. She was married twice, both marriages ended in divorce. From 1968 to 1975 she was married to the British actor and director David Hemmings (1941-2003), from 1978 to 2009 to the journalist Sir Simon Jenkins (80). From every marriage comes a son.
