Pop icon Madonna declared her admiration and love for her daughter Mercy James in a long Instagram post on her 18th birthday. “Wish you the happiest of birthdays!” wrote the 65-year-old “Vogue” singer on Instagram. “The best thing of all, because you deserve it.” She also shared a video that shows old photos of Mercy and her siblings, as well as an excerpt in which the girl plays a piece by Erik Satie on the piano.
Mercy was always the “calm,” “gentle,” and “stoic,” “always humble and friendly,” Madonna explained. “I’m really impressed with the woman you’ve become.” Her daughter’s hand makes “magic happen” on the piano and it is “so exciting” to listen to Mercy James when she brings her on stage to perform on the piano during her concerts, the multiple Grammy winner enthused. “Nothing gives me more joy than watching you grow. You truly are a miracle.” In addition to Mercy James, Madonna has five other children between the ages of 11 and 27.
