Recipes: how to make quickita quickly and easily

The quickies is one of the recipes most used when eating tacos either burritosamong other dishes of the culinary culture of Mexicowhich are very easy to do at home and can be fill out with whatever we want, whether meat either vegetables.

Quickie recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 flour tortillas
  • 1 chicken breastcut into thin strips (you can substitute beef, pork, or tofu for vegetarian options)
  • 1 red bell peppercut into strips
  • 1 green bell peppercut into strips
  • 1 onioncut into strips
  • 1 cup of grated cheese (can be cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
  • 1 tomatocut into cubes
  • Chopped lettuce
  • Sauce tomato, avocado or sour cream (optional, to serve)
  • Olive oil
  • Seasonings: cumin, paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper

Elaboration

  • In a large frying pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and cook them until they are golden brown and cooked through. Season with cuminpaprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.

  • Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.. In the same pan, add a little more oil if necessary and sauté the bell peppers and the onion until they are tender but still crispy.

  • Preheat the tortillas in a hot skillet for a few seconds on each side or according to package directions.

  • Put the quickies placing in the center of each tortilla a chicken portion, bell peppers and sautéed onions. Add a little tomato, lettuce and grated cheese.

  • Optional:add tomato sauce, guacamole or sour cream according to your preference.

  • Fold the ends of the tortillas inward and then roll them from one side to form the quickies.

  • Serve quickly and enjoy your quickies.
