Speaking on the latest episode of the Official Marvel Podcast, the president of Marvel Studios talked about Marvel’s upcoming slate of projects and revealed that he’s very excited about the new Fantastic Four movie.

Earlier this year, Marvel confirmed the main cast of the upcoming film, which through its art hinted that it would be set in the 1960s. Now, Feige has confirmed the time period in which the film will take place.
“It’s a period film,” Feige confirmed. “We released another artwork with Johnny Storm flying in the air, forming the 4 symbol and there was a cityscape in the corner of the image. And there were a lot of smart people who realized that the cityscape doesn’t look exactly like the New York we know or the New York that existed in the ’60s in our world. “Those were smart observations.”
Feige’s tease that the film is not “in our world” and is set in the 1960s suggests that The film will not take place in the current Marvel Cinematic Universewhich currently features Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America (Sam Wilson), and more.
