Two years of marriage have brought Fabian Hambüchen and his Vicky “even closer together”. Is there a baby on the way?
Fabian Hambüchen (36) and his partner Viktoria tied the knot in the summer of 2022. Two years later, the two are still raving about their love: “The marriage has welded us together. The sense of togetherness has simply become even stronger,” the Olympic gymnastics champion told the magazine “Bunte” in an interview.
Fabian Hambüchen on first meeting: “I was blown away by Vicky”
The fitness trainer agrees with her husband and adds: “Being married makes me feel that nothing is impossible and that we can achieve anything together – no matter what.” The two are currently in Paris, primarily for the Summer Olympics, but romance doesn’t seem to be lacking either: “I love it when we stroll through the streets and let ourselves drift. Paris just has so much to offer.”
At the same time, the two can reminisce. “I was blown away by Vicky,” Hambüchen recalls of their first meeting. “I knew straight away that she was special and had to hold back. I didn’t want to overwhelm her right away.” The fitness trainer, on the other hand, knows that she “couldn’t judge” the gymnast at first. “I had the feeling that he was just going through his checklist. But I was the one who had unfair prejudices at the beginning.”
Family planning “can wait a little longer”
She assumed that Hambüchen had “certain airs and graces” or could be “aloof” because of his fame, but: “He is exactly the opposite. Down-to-earth, caring and loving,” she raves.
When it comes to the topic of having children, the couple is still holding back. “We have a dog – our little Seppi, who we love more than anything and who is like a child to us. Everything else can wait a little longer,” Vicky explains.
