The Keepers tells the story of the murder of nun Cathy Cesnik. It also shows how the investigation into that crime uncovered a series of crimes committed by the Catholic Church in that Maryland town, where more than 100 people were abused and police authorities, companies and politicians participated in the corruption network.
The investigation was led by two women who were retired at the time of the documentary’s premiere, which allowed them to more intensively search for information in previous years and finally uncover the network of corruption that covered up this murder and the rest of the crimes for more than 50 years.
