In “You won’t win a million here,” presenter Stefan Raab recycled an old “TV Total” column, but with an innovation. And it even cost some people in the pedestrian zone money.
Long-term advertising gimmick for Dental Health Day: Presenter Stefan Raab presented the second episode of his new RTL+ show “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million” almost entirely with sparkling white artificial teeth. “Today is Dental Health Day and of course I celebrated,” explained Raab with a laugh. In addition to the already familiar sections, the show, which has been available on the streaming channel since Wednesday evening, also featured a new clip called “Raab is sitting”.
There, the 57-year-old sat on a bench in Cologne’s pedestrian zone with a cap pulled down over his face and sunglasses on, waiting for unsuspecting people to join him. While some passers-by recognized their famous neighbors quite quickly (“Are you Stefan Raab? – It’s crazy that I sat down here”), others were in the dark for a long time. Raab held out his hand to a woman eating next to him without asking – and actually received a piece of pastry, to the delight of the studio audience.
Loyal Raab fans will probably have found the section familiar; in the “TV total” era, the entertainer mingled with the crowd on “Raab on the Park Bench” in a similar outfit.
Participants have to pay extra for spontaneous quiz rounds
Later, Raab called for a spontaneous quiz round on the bench – with a small difference in the rules compared to classic TV shows: Here, candidates who were unlucky did not drop to zero euros, but actually had to pay extra. Raab received ten euros for each question he answered correctly. And if you believe the compilation, this happened much more often than the other way around. A special coup: card payments were also possible.
The first episode of “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million” was shown last week. The entertainer’s comeback gave the streaming channel RTL+ its best reboot to date, according to the company.
