River Plate Foundation and adidas announce the 3 finalists for the River Plate-adidas Foundation Award, a contest that rewards neighborhood clubs throughout the country, and who will vote online at fundacionriver.org.ar/premio starting this Thursday, September 26 at 12 hs and will last until Monday, September 30 at 12 noon.
In this final instance, it will be the people who select the first, second and third place of the finalist clubs. These participate for a prize of $8,000,000 pesos for first place; $2,000,000 for second place and $1,000,000 for third. In addition, the three positions already have comprehensive support from the Foundation and Adidas for a period of one year, the objective will be for them to participate in workshops and training for the institutional strengthening of the club.
The call to clubs sought to make visible and strengthen the work of neighborhood clubs, recognizing and considering the social impact they have in their respective communities. After the registration process, the three finalist projects were chosen by the Jury of Honor, on this occasion made up of:
Jorge Brito, president of the River Plate Club; Pablo Lamo, president of adidas Argentina; Leonardo Ponzio, sports secretary of CARP; Martín Giménez Rébora, Resource Mobilization manager – Focal point for Sports issues at UNICEF Argentina; and Soledad Pereyra, first member of the board of directors of the Calaguala Club, finalist for the 2023 edition of the Award.
“The neighborhood club is an opportunity to reach more and more girls and boys, which is why this award that we held together with adidas is very special and important. It gives us the possibility of reaching more places, new communities, and making the work of the clubs visible throughout the country. For us, its work is fundamental because it is a great community cell that supports the social fabric of our country. That is why this award seeks to accompany and strengthen the work of all those people who stand out for educating and transforming lives through sport,” explains Lucía de la Vega, director of the River Plate Foundation.
“Neighborhood clubs play a key role in society in general and in their closest communities. With the River – Adidas Foundation Award, we continue to support all those volunteers who work and strive every day to change people’s lives. It is difficult to choose one of the hundreds of projects presented this year. We hope that people will join the voting as we believe it is the best way to organize the podium of the three finalists. Let people know that their vote can also change a reality or fulfill a dream; the dream of a locker room, a SUM or a new soccer field,” said Santiago Moreno Hueyo, director of Public Affairs at adidas Argentina.
