Retirees must meet certain requirements and follow a specific process to access free medications.
With the recent changes in the Comprehensive Medical Care Program (PAMI)many retirees face new requirements to request free medications. This modification occurs after the controversial elimination of 44 medications from the full coverage list, which affected more than 1.2 million of retirees and pensioners. The new approach of PAMI seeks to prioritize assistance to those who suffer serious pathologies and long-acting, while other medications that are not considered urgent will now have a co-payment.
